Asserting that judgment should not be guided by public outcry, the Bombay High Court on Thursday cancelled the death penalty given earlier to three convicts in Shakti mills gang rape case. The court has granted rigorous life imprisonment to the accused, saying they will not be able to "assimilate with society." A 22-year-old photojournalist visited Shakti Mills for a photoshoot in 2013 where she was raped by five men.
