Kabhie Kabhie (Kabhie Kabhie, 1976)

Kabhie Kabhie's record will always be a homage to great melodies. The title song from the Yash Chopra classic — performed by Mukesh and Lata Mangeshkar and picturized on Amitabh Bachchan and Rakhee — is probably one of the most romantic melodies of all time. Amitabh was also reinvented as a romantic hero in the film. He was formerly renowned for his "angry young man" persona. The song has some of the best line- “tu ab se pehle sitaaron mei bas rahi thi kahin, tujhe zameen pe bulaaya gaya hai mere liye” being the highlight”.

Chookar Mere Mann Ko (Yaarana, 1981)

It's one among Amitabh Bachchan's and Kishore Kumar's most well-known solos. Neetu Singh appears in the song, which has Anjaan's words and Rajesh Roshan's music. "tu jo kahe jeevan bhar, tere liye main gaoon, geet tere bolon pe, likhta chala jaoon," we think is the sweetest line. Even 25 years after the film's premiere, Aamir Khan was heard singing "Sue kar kere mann ko" in Rang De Basanti (2006), attempting to seduce British actress Alice Patten, who portrays Sue.

Tere Mere Milan Ki Ye Raina (Abhiman, 1973)

This hit song, featuring Amitabh and Jaya Bachchan, is capable of giving the listener goosebumps. It occurs at a dramatic time in the film when the pair decides to reunite after a brief separation caused by Amitabh Bachchan's character's ego getting the better of him. The two performers, who do an outstanding job with their expressions, elevate the mellifluous version by Kishore Kumar and Lata Mangeshkar to a very emotional level. SD Burman penned the song, which was also influenced by Tagore's Jodi Tare Nai Chini Go Sheki.

Dekha Ek Khwaab (Silsila, 1981)

In this legendary song from the Yash Chopra movie, Amitabh Bachchan and Kishore Kumar create magic once more. It's one of the finest Kishore-Lata duets, with Javed Akhtar's lyrics. In this song, Amitabh Bachchan and Rekha's irresistible coupling brings the colourful Tulip gardens of Keukenhof in the Netherlands to life. Apart from the heartfelt songs, the film is also associated with chiffon sarees, the Swiss Alps, separation pain, and insecurity in love.

Rote Hue Aate Hai Sab (Muqaddar Ka Sikandar, 1978)

This song has become a cult classic, with Amitabh Bachchan proudly riding a bike and singing - the ideal alpha guy, wouldn't you say? It was sung by Kishore Kumar and serves as the film's title song. Lots of youngsters on motorcycles must have sang the song, imitating Amitabh Bachchan.

Pag Ghungroo (Namak Halal, 1982)

Bappi Lahiri created the music, while Anjaan wrote the lyrics for this timeless song by the Amitabh Bachchan-Kishore Kumar duo. Amitabh Bachchan is at his most entertaining in this song. Amitabh Bachchan is seen singing in a full audience in this timeless song. We watch him staring into the horizon and experiencing flashbacks of his youth as the song proceeds. This song is made exceptional by Kishore Kumar's matchless voice and Amitabh Bachchan's commanding screen presence.

Rang Barse (Silsila, 1981)

No Holi has ever been complete without this classic song, which featured Amitabh Bachchan and Rekha in the lead roles. The superstar's father, Harivanshrai Bachchan, wrote the lyrics for 'Rang Barse,' while Shiv-Hari composed the music. Amitabh Bachchan performed it in his own way, which is still imitated by many singers today.

Khaike Paan Banaraswala (Don, 1978)

Following the premiere of the film, this song became a chartbuster. Amitabh has one paan after the other in this song. Khaike Paan Banaraswala was reportedly not intended to be a part of the film when it was composed by Kalyanji-Anandji with lyrics by Anjaan. It was added after the film had been completed. In fact, Amitabh had stated as much in a tweet in 2018. "An afterthought, that became THE thought... song 'khaike paan banaras wala' was done after film DON was completed..." he had tweeted.

Mere Angne Mein (Laawaris, 1981)

Amitabh Bachchan contributed his vocals to this rib-tickling tune. It was enacted by the actor in drag, and it was written by Anjaan and composed by the renowned team of Kalyanji-Anandji. The lyrics are funny, and the actor's performance adds to the comedy.
