Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine develops a new controversy after 23 elderly die of getting Covid-19 vaccine jab. Several people have been declare ill within a short span of time after they got the jab.
Cautioning against vaccinating elderly people, the Norwegian Institute of Public Health issued a statement that those with short life span, above the age of 80, will not be benefitted with a jab.
"For those with the most severe frailty, even relatively mild vaccine side effects can have serious consequences," was quoted as saying by Bloomberg.
Although, these are suspected to be linked with Pfizer but these are still allegations. Pfizer and BioNTech are investigating these deaths and the causes behind these. Pfizer said, "The number of incidents so far is not alarming." Further adding that the incident was on expected lines.
13 out of 23 people who died had showed side effects such as diarrhea, fever and nausea due to the mRna vaccine.
Apart from elderly deaths, 9 people had shown serious side effects such as allergic reactions, discomfort and fever. The experts have cautioned against administering vaccines to the elderly.
Norway had administered one dose of either Moderna or Pfizer to 33,000 people by December. Now the time will tell how effective these vaccines will be.
