The 73rd Emmy Awards were held at the Event Deck at LA Live, an indoor-outdoor venue.  All of the main categories were won by The Crown, which received several nominations. It took home awards for Best Drama Series, Best Actors (Drama), and Best Supporting Actors. It won prizes for outstanding writing and direction as well. For the Netflix series, Olivia Colman won Best Actress and Josh O'Connor won Best Actor. Ted Lasso took home the award for Best Comedy Series. It also took home the first two comedy prizes for Hannah Waddingham and Brett Goldstein, as well as the best actor (comedy) award for Jason Sudeikis.

Since 2008, the annual television awards have been held at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles. For the first time in years, though, the location has been changed. The Emmys were given out in person this year, unlike previous year. Cedric the Entertainer hosted the big night on television.
