With time passing by India is turning out to be a tourist hub with foreigners from all around the world visiting the country in order to explore the diverse culture of the nation. However, there is also an ugly reality that tourists often get harassed during their visit to India. There are multiple videos available on social media when foreigners were heckled and harassed by some 'anti-social' locals. Now, a Russian YouTuber and vlogger named Koko had to face similar kind of harassment while she was live-streaming in New Delhi's famous Sarojini Nagar Market.
In the viral video, the Russian Vlogger was seen walking in the busy Sarojini Nagar Market and interacting with her followers on a live stream. Suddenly, a man arrived in the video and started to request the YouTuber to his friend. In Russian vlogger Koko Sarojini market video, the man first claimed to be a regular viewer of her videos to break the ice with the Russian YouTuber and draw her attention. Thereafter, the man told her that he approached her for 'friending' intentions.
"Can you be my friend?" the man asked while Koki was live streaming from the market. A while into the conversation, he makes indecent remarks and says, "Aap vaise bahut sexy ho. Kya aap (friend) banna pasand karoge? (You are very sexy. Would you like to be my friend)" Koko who was literally uncomfortable by the man's remarks asked him why he didn't he do friendship with the people of his country. The man then replied that he is now bored with his Indian friends. To this, Koko then told the man that she is currently not looking for friendship and she does not even know her. Still, the man approached her saying that she will know him after she does a friendship with him. Finally, Koko in an uncomfortable state said that she is not finding friends and she has many in her life.
Following the incident, Koko took to her Instagram handle and shared the video with the caption, "He doesn’t want Indian friend." After Russian YouTuber Sarojini market video went viral on social media, many apologised Indians apologised to her.
A user commented on her post saying, "sorry mam from us all r not same..this kind of people exsist everycorner of world."
Another user wrote, "He was just one slap away from a much needed lesson."
"I can’t believe this. So sad," wrote another user.
One more user wrote, "This is sexual harassment.. this is fckn sexual harassment"
