Punjab AAP president and Cabinet minister Aman Arora attacked opposition parties roundly for protesting the withdrawal of security for SAD leader Bikram Singh Majithia. He asked the Congress, the BJP, and the SAD why they stood together to protect a person against whom there was an allegation of involvement in drugs.

Arora reaffirmed AAP's position that earlier governments had not been able to control the drug scourge in Punjab and accused all the major opposition parties of having contributed towards facilitating the drug business. He pointed out that though these parties never united for the Punjabis' well-being, now they were all together raising their voice for one person connected with the drug issue.

It is surprising to know that Congress, the BJP, and the Akali Dal have joined hands to help a drug mafia. They never supported the cause of Punjabis, but today, they are voicing against the withdrawal of security for one who has destroyed the lives of Punjab's youth. Why so much sympathy for a person who has killed thousands of families?" Arora asked.

He added that Majithia had earlier been provided with top-level security, at par with the prime minister, and asked if such protection was warranted.

Reiterating the Punjab government's resolve to eliminate drugs, Arora said that no one dealing in drugs would be spared. "Our war against drugs is strong and unshakeable. Regardless of how powerful a person is, the law will take its course," he asserted.

The AAP government has been adopting stringent measures to address drug problems in Punjab, and this action is viewed as part of its overall efforts to make the state drug-free.
