The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) continues to grab headlines for the wrong reasons. Former Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) Chief & AAP Rajya Sabha member Swati Maliwal on Monday was allegedly assaulted at Arvind Kejriwal's residence. As per reports, Swati Maliwal was assaulted by Arvind Kejriwal's PA at the CM's residence. Reports suggest that Swati Maliwal made an SOS call to the Delhi Police twice to rescue her.
A newswire quoted a source saying that Swati Maliwal called to the Police Control Room (PCR) after the alleged verbal spat. The calls were made at 10 am on Monday. As a result, a team from the Civil Lines police station reached the Chief Minister's residence after that. Notably, neither the CM's residence or AAP has made an immediate reaction to it.
As per reports, Swati Maliwal was out of country most of the time when Arvind Kejriwal was fighting a legal battle in the alleged Delhi liquor policy scam. Therefore, Swati Maliwal went to Arvind Kejriwal's house to meet him. However, Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal Personal Assistant Bibhav Kumar allegedly prevented her from doing so. Notably, multiple newswire stated that they tried to Swati Maliwal over the incident, however, she disconnected the call.
As a result, reports quoted an officer with the operations cell of the Delhi Police said that two calls were received regarding the alleged incident. “In the first call to 100 [emergency response number] made at around 9.40 am, the caller did not mention her name. But in the second call at around 9.54am...the caller told the police that her name is Swati Maliwal and Delhi Chief Minister’s aide Bibhav Kumar is manhandling her."
