The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) is gaining strength ahead of the Jalandhar West Vidhan Sabha by-election. The AAP gave a big jolt to Congress and Bharatiya Janata Party in Jalandhar West. On Wednesday, office-bearers and workers of Congress and BJP left their previous parties and joined the AAP.
Congress councilor Tarsem Lakhotra, Anmol Grover and senior Congress leader Kamal Loch joined AAP along with their colleagues.
At the same time, the Aam Aadmi Party has also dealt a big setback to the BJP. Viresh Mintu, a senior BJP leader from ward number 40, also joined AAP. Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann formally inducted all the leaders into the party and welcomed them and said that they will be given full respect in the party.
In his statement on the occasion, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann said that the people of the Vidhan Sabha constituency Jalandhar west are standing firmly with the Aam Aadmi Party. He said that this election should not have happened, but the previous MLA turned out to be greedy and betrayed the people. Due to which crores of rupees are being spent on this election from the treasury of the Punjab government today. He assured that the people of Jalandhar West will give a befitting reply to the fraudsters by electing the AAP candidate Mohinder Bhagat.
