Aam Aadmi Party leader & Jalandhar MP Sushil Rinku Saturday provided some updates on the ongoing construction and renovation of Adampur Jalandhar Airport. Jalandhar which is the center of multiple industries and the hub of NRIs lacked the presence of air connectivity and it was among the most sought demands of the people living there. As a result, the Bhagwant Mann government had assured that Adampur Airport will soon be operational and domestic flights will start its services in its initial phase.
Now, Jalandhar MP Sushil Rinku has given an update on Adampur Jalandhar Airport routes, the starting date, and the ongoing work.
In his video statement, Sushil Rinku said, "Had a conversation with Aviation Minister's PA for the start of flight services from Adampur Jalandhar Airport. Adampur Jalandhar Airport is almost complete. Work related to connecting and runway is ongoing and it is expected that it will be completed in the next 2 weeks. The proposed route by SpiceJet from Adampur Jalandhar Airport is- Adampur Jalandhar Airport to Nanded Sahib, Adampur Jalandhar Airport to Kolkata, Adampur Jalandhar Airport to Goa, Adampur Jalandhar Airport to Hindon (Ghaziabad), and Adampur Jalandhar Airport to Bengaluru."
"These 5 routes will soon be operational. Also, the Punjab Government has sent a proposal to name the Adampur Jalandhar Airport to Sant Ravi Das Ji. Currently, discussions are going on the matter."
MP Sushil Rinku further said, "I want the airport to have connectivity with Delhi's IGI Airport. Therefore, I will go to Delhi to talk to Air India officials over the matter. Adampur Jalandhar Airport will be operational soon."
