Aditya Roy Kapur to feature in Bhushan Kumar, Murad Khetani's Hindi remake of Tamil hit ‘Thadam'

Murad Khetani and Bhushan Kumar are on a mission to tell outstanding stories to their audiences. Following the huge success of Kabir Singh, the production partnership has announced a slew of large projects, including actor Kartik Aaryan's 'Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2', Sandeep Vanga's 'Animal' starring actor Ranbir Kapoor, and now the Hindi remake of the Tamil classic ‘Thadam.'

Aditya Roy Kapur, a Bollywood actor, is going to star in the Hindi version of Tamil hit Thadam. For the first time, Kapur will play two roles in this untitled thriller, which is said to be based on genuine events. Vardhan Ketkar, filmmaker, will direct the film, which will be produced by T-Series' Bhushan Kumar and Murad Khetani.Aditya Roy Kapur has been recruited on board by the producer duo to play the lead character in this action thriller.

Aditya Roy Kapur is looking forward to taking on the demanding character of Thadam in the Hindi version. “I am motivated and excited to be a part of conveying such an amazing story,” he said in a statement. The original picture was engrossing and fascinating, and it made an incredible impact on me. Getting a chance to play two roles requires double the preparation and double the challenge for an actor.

Based on true events, Aditya Roy Kapur will play two completely distinct characters for the first time in this yet-to-be-titled thriller. The film, directed by debutant Vardhan Ketkar, is set to begin production in September of this year.

Producer Bhushan Kumar discusses his latest collaboration with Murad Khetani and his upcoming collaboration with Aditya Roy Kapur. He said,” I was excited when Murad Bhai mentioned the possibility of a Hindi remake of Thadam, which had earned a lot of praise in the south. Collaboration with like-minded people is usually enjoyable, which is why I enjoy working with Murad Bhai. Aditya's most recent project with us was an action flick, and everyone adored him in that part.”


He said, “We all agreed that he would be a good fit for the characters in this." Murad Khetani, the producer of 'Thadam,' has been eager to adapt the film for the Hindi audience since its release in 2019. When asked about the movie he showed, he said, "When I first saw Thadam, I realised right away that this was a narrative that needed to be told to the audience.”

“Soon after, I contacted the Tamil filmmakers and obtained the rights to remake the film in Hindi. When I told Bhushanji about the story, he was immediately on board. Aditya has been doing fantastic work, and his image as an action hero has received a lot of praise, ” Producer Bhushan Kumar said.

We approached him since our film required a powerful personality like his, and he immediately agreed to join us. We're also excited to work with Vardhan Ketkar, who is directing Thadam for the first time." Bhushan Kumar's T-Series and Murad Khetani's Cine1 Studios are producing the film.

Thadam, a Tamil film starring Arun Vijay, was released in 2019. Tanya Hope, Smruthi Venkat, and Vidya Pradeep also acted in the film, which was directed by Magizh Thirumeni and produced by Inder Kumar.

Thadam's Hindi version is set to begin filming in September of this year.
