Raj, along with a number of other current Test squad members, played in India's most recent Test match against South Africa. India all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja came to Twitter to wish the women's team luck ahead of their return to the Test arena after an almost seven-year absence. In a tweet for the Indian women's team, Jadeja wrote: "Playing Test cricket for the country is always a special feeling. It feels great that we will be able to witness our women's team competing in Test cricket after seven years. I would like to wish the girls goodluck in their game against England."
Jadeja and the rest of the Indian men's Test squad are now in England, preparing for the World Test Championship (WTC) final against New Zealand in Southampton. In a recent intra-squad practice match at the Rose Bowl, Jadeja slammed a half-century and has been picked in India's 15-man squad for the WTC final, which begins on June 18.
The Indian women's team defeated South Africa by an innings and 34 runs in their most recent Test at home, with Harmanpreet Kaur taking nine wickets. India will be hoping to extend their winning streak against England by winning the one-off Test to start the tour on a winning note.
