The entry of Amritpal Singh, Waris Punjab De Chief, into Lok Sabha Elections 2024 has painted the polls with a hardline angle. Pro Khalistan leader Amritpal Singh who is lodged in Dibrugarh Jail under NSA Act is fighting Lok Sabha Elections from Khadoor Sahib. It is said that on-ground people have been in support of Amritpal Singh and the wave of Waris Punjab De Chief is quite visible in the constituency. Khadoor Sahib is regarded as a Panth seat i.e. a Sikh-dominated seat. People of multiple villages of Khadoor Sahib constituency are said to be inclined towards Amritpal Singh.
Khadoor Sahib is the only seat that touches three areas of Punjab- Doaba, Majha, and Malwa. The Sikh-dominated Lok Sabha Constituency has always been a stronghold of Congress and SAD. In 2019, Congress' Jasbir Singh Gill won the Lok Sabha Polls from Khadoor Sahib. This time too SAD and Congress have announced their candidates, however, the entry of Amritpal Singh is blowing winds of change in Khadoor Sahib. AAP, Congress, and SAD are at loggerheads in the urban areas of Khadoor Sahib, however, in villages, Amritpal Singh is giving tough competition to Congress and AAP. SAD is falling behind in the race, especially in the village area of Khadoor Sahib.
It is said that the youths of Khadoor Sahib are backing Amritpal Singh rather than Shiromani Akali Dal. While no other seats of Punjab are witnessing any kind of wave, the case of Khadoor Shaib is totally different. It is said that Amritpal Singh's wave is quite evident on the ground level in Khadoor Sahib. If Amritpal manages to win the Lok Sabha Elections 2024, then it will be a surprise package for Punjab Politics.
The candidates who will be contesting for Lok Sabha Election from Khadoor Sahib are Laljit Singh Bhullar (AAP), Kulbir Singh Zira (Congress), Manjit Singh (BJP), and Virsa Singh Valtoha (SAD). Virsa Singh Valtoha’s biggest obstacle in the upcoming election is Amritpal Singh has both enjoy the same vote bank and are hardliners.

Amritpal Singh has declared assets worth Rs 1,000 in his poll affidavit. According to his poll affidavit, Amritpal has Rs 1,000 bank balance in the SBI branch, Rayya, Baba Bakala in Amritsar. Other than this, Singh does not have any moveable or immovable assets, according to his affidavit. His wife Kirandip Kaur owns movable assets worth Rs 18.37 lakh. It comprises Rs 20,000 cash in hand, gold jewellery worth Rs 14 lakh and 4,000 GBP (pound) equivalent to Rs 4,17,440, in account at Revolut Ltd, London, UK.
