The news related to Punjab that makes it to the headline points out that the crime rate in Punjab is increasing day by day instead of decreasing. Another news that has come to the fore shows how a Sikh man becomes victim of a brutal assault. Reportedly, the attack took place in Ajit Nagar which comes under the jurisdiction of Sultanwind police station. The video that has surfaced shows that more than 10 people come to the chowk and beat an innocent person.

The video that has been surging up shows that the victim comes running to the chowk who is followed by 10 miscreants. These miscreants dragged the victim on the road and then hit him mercilessly. According to the sources, the incident took place on Sultanwind Road. The victim was so brutally beaten up that he received 12 stitches.

The victim’s father, Balwinder Singh who is posted in Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC), has urged the police to take strict action against the accused and has also demanded justice from the police administration.

As soon as the news came to the light, the police initiated an action against the accused based on the statements of the family members. It is being said that the victim was attacked due to some old grudges against the family and now the side of the accused is pressurizing Balwinder Singh to resign from his post.

SHO Preeti of Sultanwind police station said that the preliminary investigation has revealed that the said youths have an old enmity with each other. A group seized a lone youth and beat him up. An attempt is being made to identify the accused youth based on CCTV. Further action will be taken only after identification.
