Apple Inc has come up with a plan to upgrade its top models of the iPhone to make it 5G for users in India at the earliest by December this year, the company informed earlier today.

The move came a couple of weeks later Indian PM Narendra Modi rolled out 5G services in India to make the iPhone compatible with the 5G for its users based in India.

The company will be presenting 5G services in the iPhones through an upgrade that they will be pushing as the normal updates, however, the 5G compatible upgrade will be only available for the recent models of the iPhones, which includes, iPhone 14, 13, 12 and iPhone SE.

In the statement informing about the development the company said, "We are working with our carrier partners in India to bring the best 5G experience to iPhone users as soon as network validation and testing for quality and performance is completed,"

It was on October 1st when Prime Minister launched the 5G services in 13 tier 1 services in India amid much fanfare where the telecommunication giants Jio and Airtel are leading the charge in providing services to the users.

As per the government documents, top bureaucrats from India’s telecoms and IT departments will chair a meeting on Wednesday for early 5G adoption which will be attended by tech companies including Apple, Samsung, Vivo, and Xiaomi.

The meeting will also see the presence of the domestic network providers Jio Airtel, and Vodafone Idea to lay out the plan ahead in the country for the best possible availability of high internet connectivity in India at the earliest.
