Raveena Tandon made her OTT debut with the web show Aranyak.  Tandon, who will be seen playing a cop named Kasturi Dogra, seems to be the show-stealer, assuming from the actress’ excitement.

The rape and gruesome death of 19-year-old Aimee (Anastasiya Hamolka), the daughter of a French Tourist, Julie Baptiste (Breshna Khan), rakes up the rumour of the Nartendua who apparently had terrorized the town years earlier when it killed nine girls.

In the Netflix drama, Aranyak opens up with Raveena Tandon who wishes to go on a long holiday, but, due to the murder of a French tourist, Aimee, she was appointed on a new big case. The story is set in the cold and picturesque hill station called Sironah, somewhere in North India.

As Kasturi and Angad begin investigation, the evidences lead to Jagdamba’s son Kanti. Kanti (Tejasvi Dev) is out on parole on rape charges. Meghna Malik was playing the role of politician Jagdamba Dhumal, who tries to save her son in every way possible. Kuber Manhas (Zakir Hussain) was the political advisor of Jagdamba. He wishes to win the Rajya Sabha's seat and build a resort in a sensitive forest area.

The story aims at exposing drug rackets run by these big politicians, bureaucrats and other big authorities in the series. Set across eight long episodes, Aranyak keeps you hooked to its very end.

While the plot of this Netflix series with political ploys, personal agendas and the myth of the murderous entity are all intriguing, the premise and the setting of the tale appear oft-seen and familiar. One for sure is the series 'Candy' streaming on Voot.

But, the storyline is much stronger than ‘Candy’ and Aranyak, also, have a better theme, plot and a great cast in the series.
