Archana Puran Singh, a well-known Bollywood actress who now works in comedy with Kapil Sharma, appeared in Jalandhar court as a witness in a multi-crore entertainment scam. Archana Puran Singh made a virtual appearance in court. In the same case, Bollywood superstar Udit Narayan testified as a witness.

The case concerns the birth centenary celebrations of Shaheed-e-Azam Bhagat Singh in Khatkar Kalan in 2011, in which Shekhar Suman, Archana Puran Singh, Udit Narayan, Sadhna Sargam, Hans Raj Hans, Pammi Bai, Prem Chopra, Uttam Singh, and other Pollywood and Bollywood stars took part. The Punjab Art and Culture Department organized the event. This cost 3.15 crore to produce.

Dr. Swaran Singh, the then-head of the department and the then-commissioner of the Jalandhar division, is accused of defrauding the government of Rs 1.40 crore by presenting more money in the accounts while paying the artists less. The State Vigilance Bureau had listed the then Divisional Commissioner Swaran Singh, owner of GM Enterprises Vikas Mehra of Faridabad, Sanjay of Faridabad, and Satveer Singh Bajwa of Chandigarh as suspects in the case. This swindle, which took place under the name of entertainment, has been reported to the Punjab Vigilance and Enforcement Directorates (ED).

IAS officer Swaran Singh is accused of wasting government funds by abusing his position in the ceremony, said lawyer Ankur Bansal. This government function has been accused of misappropriating approximately 3 crore 15 lakh rupees. In addition to Vigilance, the ED has filed a case in this matter. Swaran Singh, an IAS officer, is accused of inviting actors to the Samagam to build a name for himself in Bollywood. They were given a less sum but were duped by showing more in the press.

Actress Archana Puran Singh has recorded her statement, according to lawyer Ankur Bansal. She took the statement as a witness and had it recorded by virtually appearing. In a statement, actress Archana Puran Singh stated that she was paid one and a half lakh rupees in lieu of performing in a cultural show during Shaheed Bhagat Singh's centenary celebrations in January. Archana Puran Singh said she was given 2.5 lakh rupees when asked how much money was given to her colleague comic Shekhar Suman. They have been paid the sum mentioned in government records.

Surjit Singh Grewal, the then-SSP of the Vigilance Bureau, filed the complaint that led to the opening of the case. Udit Narayan himself appeared in court for the last time. According to Udit Narayan, it was determined to spend one lakh rupees to invite him to this event. He was also given a cheque for the same amount. Aside from that, his team was handed 12 lakh rupees.
