A dead body was found on the road in Basti Bawa Khel in Jalandhar on new year morning. The body was found near Basti Bawa Khel Canal in Jalandhar on the morning of New Year. The identity card recovered from the dead body revealed that the deceased person was posted as DSP in PAP Training Center in Jalandhar.

 

JCP Sandeep Sharma said that in the preliminary investigation the cause of death seems to be an accident. DSP Dalbir Singh was going somewhere on foot at night during which a vehicle hit him. JCP Sharma said that the CCTVs of the area are being checked. The body was found to have a severe injury on the head.

 

The DSP, Dalbir Singh Deol recently made the headlines after he opened fire at residents of Jalandhar’s Basti Ibrahim Khan Village after they objected to his public drinking. The cop was allegedly consuming liquor with village sarpanch Bhupinder Singh Gill at a parking lot when the residents reportedly expressed their disapproval. He was briefly detained on Sunday but was then released as both parties struck a compromise and no case was registered.

 

Giving more information about this, ADCP Balwinder Singh Randhawa said that they had received information about a dead body found on the roadside. Upon investigation, it was found that this dead body was of a DSP who was posted in PAP in Sangrur. An injury was found on his head which is being investigated and nearby CCTV cameras are being watched.
