Taking stern action, Arunachal Pradesh Police has detained the Ludhiana based YouTuber who called the state a part of China and said it's MLA Ninong Ering “looks like a non-Indian.”

21-year-old accused Paras Singh was booked by the Arunachal Pradesh after his ‘racist’ comment video, which he posted on his YouTube channel did rounds on the internet.

Calling harsh action against the accused, MP Kiren Rijiju took to Twitter and wrote,” The accused will be punished as per law. Such a mindset harms the unity of our country. The Union Home Ministry has already issued advisories to all states and UTs to ensure protection and dignity of the North-East people.”

He further added that a team of AP police had left for Punjab to detain Paras. “I have spoken to the Ludhiana police commissioner and asked him to expedite the accused’s transit remand,” he said.

According to Ludhiana CP Rakesh Aggarwal, “Paras has been handed over to the Arunachal Pradesh Police on transit remand.”

It may be noted here, Paras on Sunday had uploaded the video containing the racial remark. However, later he uploaded another video, seeking an apology on the matter.

This however has come after Pasighat West MLA Ninong Ering on May 22 wrote to the PM assuring that efforts were being made to re-launch PUBG with a new name in India.

Upon this, Paras said the “MLA looks like a non-Indian and all AP people have the same appearance.”

“Arunachal can’t be found on Indian map because it is part of China,” he added.
