Player Unknown's Battlegrounds (PUBG) is a multiplayer online game. The addiction of PUBG is soaring worldwide and it has thick user-base. It is suggested that inhuman attitudes such as lack of empathy and war-related sentiments are likely to emerge among children who play aggressive and violent games like PUBG.

The recent incident where teenager kept his mother body at their home in Lucknow for two days by threatening and locking his younger sister up in a room to ensure she does not inform anyone shows how it affects the psychology of young minds through virtual means.

What is the reason that children are so addicted to virtual reality games?

What they get out of such games that they immerse themselves completely in this vicious cycle?

"There is colourful movements in these gaskets, which leads to highly tired optic nerves which take time to relax, which intern leads to insomnia. Since mind is not able to relax properly, person gets impulsive, and low frustration tolerance. This makes them addictive to gaskets. Under the withdrawal symptoms person may lose their senses for right or wrong. Availability of lethal weapon or substances at home leads to accidental incidence."

Avneet Kaur, School therapist says"One really gets addicted to gaming. While the game in question is all about winning, that will be the only goal on the person’s mind. They want to win in any situation and will not want to accept defeat."

"This feeling extends to beyond when they are playing as well. If a parent stops the child from doing anything, it feels like a defeat. They become impulsive and disturbed, leading to such acts, Apart from this, they will forget about everything needed to have a healthy lifestyle or connection with their parents."

Dr. Tarlochan Singh, "Violence gives people a feeling of superiority and victory, which keeps drawing them back. One really gets addicted to gaming. This feeling extends to beyond when they are playing as well."

Dr.Krishan Soni, Associate Professor of Clinical Psychology PGIMER Chandigarh says "While playing, the body releases dopamine, a mood-lifting chemical that induces an adrenaline rush in gamers. This feeding of dopamine is how the game becomes addictive"

"Dopamine is also released during gambling, drug and alcohol abuse. (Such) Violent games give players a medium to let out their otherwise suppressed emotions."
