Avengers: Doomsday Release Date
As per reports, Avengers: Doomsday will be released in theaters on May 1, 2026. Interestingly, just after 1 year, Avengers: Secret Wars will be released in theaters on May 7, 2027. Director, and filmmaker Anthony and Joe Russo have confirmed shooting for the upcoming Marvel films, Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars. The directors said both the movies are being filmed back-to-back in London. In a conversation with the media, Joe Russo shared that the production is intense but exciting for them.
“It’s all happening in London, and we are shooting both movies almost one after the other. It’s a huge workload, and honestly, we don’t know if we’ll survive it,” Joe said, jokingly. Further, he added, “But we’re thrilled about it. We’ve found a unique way into the story, something that’s tough to pull off and will also challenge the audience. That’s what keeps us motivated.”
Robert Downey to play Dr. Doom, not Iron Man
Robert Downey is returning to the MCU with the character of Dr. Doom. Avengers: Doomsday will be focused on classic villain Victor von Doom. Talking about who is Dr. Doom aka Victor von Doom, he will be a major threat to several heroes in the Marvel Universe. Dr Doom is an arch-rival to The Fantastic Four and the true nemesis of Reed Richards' Mister Fantastic.
It is expected that RDJ's darker variant of Iron Man becomes Dr Doom in another timeline. Going by the Marvel comics, Doctor Doom is depicted as the monarch of Latveria whose goal is to bring order to humanity through world conquest.
Doctor Doom's power is magic, intelligence, and skills. He is one of the most powerful sorcerers to ever live. Sorcerer Supreme himself taught him the ways of the mystic arts so his mastery of magic is inane. He combines magic and technology to do devastating damage.
As per reports, Dr. Doom will first be seen in the upcoming Fantastic Four movie slated to be released in 2025.
