The road to Oscars 2025 has officially started as filmmakers, actors, and actresses from around the world attended BAFTA 2025. The 78th British Academy Film Awards (BAFTA) witnessed some of the biggest celebrities attending the show including Selena Gomez, Kylie Jenner, Timothée Chalamet, Mikey Madison, Adrien Brody, etc. BAFTA 2025 honored actors, actresses, and filmmakers who were part of critically acclaimed and globally hit movies that bowled over fans around the world. India was banking big on Payal Kapadia’s All We Imagine As Light, however, it could not win the prestigious award. Payal Kapadia’s All We Imagine As Light lost to French musical drama Emilia Perez which also features Selena Gomez. 

Conclave and The Brutalist led the race with the maximum number of wins at the 78th British Academy Film Awards, followed by the likes of Emilia Pérez, Wicked, Anora, Dune: Part Two, A Real Pain, Wallace, and Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl, and more. For the unversed, Conclave previously received 12 nominations, a step ahead of the Jacques Audiard-directed Emilia Perez (11). Brady Corbet’s The Brutalist had nine nods. Doctor Who actor David Tennant took over the hosting duties and started BAFTA 2025 with a musical opening as he sang the rendition of I’m Gonna Be (500 Miles) along with appearances from Anna Kendrick, James McAvoy, Selena Gomez and Colman Domingo.
