On 16th February, Sunday, the US miliary aircraft carrying the third batch of 112 deported Indian immigrants is all set to get land at Amritsar Airport at night. These deportees are being transported by a US military aircraft, marking a significant operation in the ongoing enforcement of US immigration policies.
A total of 112 immigrants will get returned from the US. Theses deportees include:
- Punjab: 31 deportees
- Haryana: 44 deportees
- Gujarat: 33 deportees
- Himachal Pradesh: 1 deportee
- Uttarakhand: 1 deportee
- Uttar Pradesh: 2 deportees
Regarding this, the security at Amritsar Airport has been tightened. All the immigration and customs officials are prepared to conduct thorough verification and clearance checks on all passengers.
With Donald Trump as the President, the US has intensified its strict immigration policies which is leading to the rapid deportation of undocumented Indian immigrants.
The rising number of deportations highlights the growing crackdown on illegal Indian immigrants in the US. As per the experts, more deportations may follow in the coming days as the US government continues its strict stance.
Previously, the second batch of deportees included 67 from Punjab, 33 from Haryana, 8 from Gujarat, 3 from Uttar Pradesh, 2 each from Rajasthan and Maharashtra, and 1 each from Jammu and Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh. This flight had landed at Sri Guru Ram Das Ji Airport on 15th February at 11: 30 pm.
Before this, the first US military aircraft landed at Amritsar Airport on 5th February carrying 104 illegal Indian immigrants. Out of these 104 deportees, 33 each were from Haryana and Gujarat, 30 were residents of Punjab and the rest were from other states.
This deportation aligns with the US administration’s intensified efforts to enforce immigration laws. A spokesperson from the US Embassy in New Delhi stated, “The United States is vigorously enforcing its border, tightening immigration laws, and removing illegal migrants. These actions send a clear message: illegal migration is not worth the risk.”
