To promote tourism in Punjab, Punjab Government has launched several schemes to promote eco-tourism. Punjab is blessed with natural beauty and every district of the state has its heritage and history. Focusing on this, the government has prepared several plans to introduce tourists to the beautiful hills, dams, and forests of Pathankot to Hoshiarpur, Rupnagar, and New Chandigarh which have not been shown till now.
The Punjab government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh is also starting a project to promote eco-tourism in Talwara and Maili Dam in Hoshiarpur. The Forest Department has prepared a plan for this. Under this, necessary all-weather huts will be built for camping. Eco Park in Talwara will give tourists a view of the entire city from a hill, which will be known as Hawa Mahal. This project will be built in one acre.
Forests of Mattewada
The forests of Mattewada, located on the banks of the Sutlej River in Ludhiana, will now become a hub of eco-tourism. There are 8 forests here. Apart from this, there is a two-and-a-half kilometer forest. The Punjab government has taken steps to improve the forests. This area will be developed as a tourist spot.
Chamrod Patan
The Vinjit Sagar Dam is located in Pathankot, along the border of Jammu and Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh. There is Chamrod Patan near this dam. There are hills in 3 states Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, and Punjab. This magical place is spread over an area of 57 km. Mesmerizing Blue Lake is located near the hills. The Punjab Government is going to start a project for eco-tourism on 18 acres on the Kullua island of this lake. Under this, 20 cottages will be prepared on the island and activities of water sports will also be done.
