'Black Monday': Top gainer stocks amid global market crash as Sensex falls 2223 points & NIFTY ends near 24,050

The world on Monday witnessed a major downfall in their respective stock market fueled by multiple reasons including fear of the US recession, Israel-Iran possible war, hike of interest rates in Japanese banks, etc. Indian Stock Market too witnessed the 'Black Monday' after witnessing a market crash on Friday ever since a report published in the US indicated a rise of unemployment fueling recession fears. Not only this, multiple reports suggest that Iran may attack Israel by itself or through its proxies as Tel Aviv has been accused of killing Hamas Chief Hania Ismail in Tehran. As a result, the geopolitical tensions also contributed to the world stock market crash. Talking about Sensex and NIFTY today, 28 out of 30 stocks registered a downfall on the Sensex. Sexsex on Monday was closed at a fall of 2223 points while NIFTY ended its day on 24,050. Amid the major global stock market crash, the question arises where there any company stocks that witnessed a positive growth? 

The answer is yes. The stocks of three companies observed growth despite the global market crash. The three stocks-  Hindustan Unilever, Nestle India, and HUL on Sensex. As per reports, Hindustan Unilever and Nestle India were the only BSE Sensex Top Gainers in the 30-share index on Monday. On the other hand, HUL closed the day at Rs 2,716, up 0.87% (also a positive growth), and Nestle India ended the day at Rs 2,511, up 0.64%.

Coming back to NIFTY, only five companies registered a positive growth while 45 declined. Hindustan Unilever, Tata Consumer Products, Nestle India, Britannia, and HDFC Life were the top performers in the Nifty. On the other hand, Tata Motors, ONGC, Adani Ports, Tata Steel, and Hindalco suffered the most significant losses.

As per NSE India, Hindustan Unilever opened at 2,675.95 points and it closed the day at a high of 2,742.00. Tata Consumer Products opened at 1,176.00 and closed at a high of 1,213.60. Nestle India opened at 2,488.00 on NIFTY and closed at 2,528.90, Britannia opened at 5,709.95 & closed at 5,842.95, and last but not least HDFC Life opened at 693.00 and closed on a gain of 713.90 points.
