Can you travel with alcohol in Delhi Metro? DMRC clarifies guidelines

Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) on Friday clarified whether you can travel with alcohol or not. Delhi Metro was asked by users whether they can travel with 'sealed' alcohol bottles inside the train or not. Sharing a snip of the guidelines, a user asked Delhi Metro, "Can we carry Sealed alcohol bottles inside Metro? This is a snip from the DMRC website, it says we can carry 2 bottles per person. Please assist." Responding to it DMRC clarified that 'two sealed bottles of alcohol' are allowed inside the Delhi Metro, however, drinking of alcohol inside metro premises is still strictly prohibited. Now, the question arises what are the other things which you cannot carry or keep with yourself while traveling inside Delhi Metro are-

Gunpowders, Dynamite, realistic replicas of explosives, petroleum, and other inflammable substances. Talking about alcohol, DMRC guideline says, 'Sealed bottles maximum 02 per persons'. wet batteries and spillable batteries are also not allowed in the Delhi metro.

Talking about Delhi Metro, it has been linked to multiple controversies. DMRC often comes under the scanner of travelers' vulgur behavior and passengers fighting inside the train. The inappropriate behavior and fighting among the passengers raise questions on security of the Delhi Metro. Recently a video went viral in which two elderly women argued with a couple traveling inside the train and involved in an unruly act. Not only this, but a video also went viral in which a man was seen openly masturbating inside Delhi Metro. This earned Delhi Women's Commision Chairperson's reaction as well who asked Delhi Police to lodge an FIR.

However, Delhi Metro is the lifeline for India's capital. Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday traveled by Delhi Metro to reach Delhi University where he delivered a speech. Not only this, while traveling inside Delhi Metro he interacted with youths as well.
