A Chinese spy balloon equal to three buses was shredded into bits after it sneaked into the US airspace by an American single missile. The Pentagon while detailing the matter to the media said that it had surveillance capabilities.

The video of the strike has gone viral now from the time when the balloon was shot down. China angrily voiced its "strong dissatisfaction" at the move and said it may make "necessary responses."

While POTUS Joe Biden making a response over the matter took to the media saying, “We successfully took it down, and I want to complement our aviators who did it.”

A photographer from a renowned media agency who witnessed the shootdown went on to say, a stream came from a jet and hit the balloon, but there was no explosion.” It then began to fall, he later added.

US shoots down Chinese spy balloon, confirms Biden

Detailing further on the incident a senior US military personnel said, An F-22 fighter jet took the shot at 2:39 p.m. (1939 GMT), using a single AIM-9X supersonic, heat-seeking, air-to-air missile.

Reports quoting the US defence official read, “The balloon first entered US airspace on January 28 before moving into Canadian airspace on Monday. It then re-entered US airspace on January 31.”

Condemning the intensity of the matter Washington has called it a “clear violation” of US sovereignty and has confronted Beijing over the shootdown on Saturday.

Pentagon assesses that the balloon was just the latest in a string of Chinese spy balloon activity spanning the globe. It further added saying that a Chinese balloon was reported flying over some parts of Latin America.

Whereas China on the other hand expressed its deep regret saying that an “airship” used for civilian meteorological and other scientific purposes had strayed into US airspace.
