The Crime Branch team of Commissionerate Police in Jalandhar has arrested a minor studying in tenth class with a country-made pistol. A total of 10 country-made pistols have been recovered from the arrested minor.
The police had received information that the accused was roaming in the area to supply country-made pistols to other people. The crime branch team laid a trap and arrested the accused near Ghas Mandi. The minor is a resident of Kot Mohalla. He will soon be presented in court and taken on remand.
In charge of the Special Cell of Jalandhar Commissionerate Police, Ravinder Kumar said that police had received information that a youth of the city is involved in the business of making illegal country-made pistols and he supplies them in the city. Based on the said information, the minor was arrested.
After this, the police laid a trap and arrested a minor student resident of Kot Mohalla, Jalandhar. Mr Swapan Sharma informed that Harjinder is a minor and has been involved in this Business since long adding that his forward and backward linkages are being traced.
In charge Ravinder Kumar informed that police have recovered 10 country-made pistols, an iron cutting machine, a drill machine, many other tools used in making pistols and an Activa without a number plate.
According to the information of the police, the boy had taken training in making pistols online. Police has registered a case against the accused under many sections including Arms Act. Mr Swapan Sharma said that further investigation into the case is going on and details will be shared later.
