CM Mann likely to announce free electricity on the completion of 1 month in Government

It is being speculated that Bhagwant Mann can give a gift of giving 300 units of electricity free to each family every month on Saturday. Bhagwant Mann had also met Aam Aadmi Party chief Arvind Kejriwal in Delhi earlier this week to fulfill the promise of making electricity-free.

Bhagwant Mann along with the other senior officials of the state, including Power Secretary Dilip Kumar, Chief Secretary Anirudh Tewari and CMD of PSPCL(Punjab State Power Corporation Limited) had a meeting with AAP convener Arvind Kejriwal earlier this week to discuss the modalities of doling out the scheme of free electricity to residents of the state. 

Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann is expected to give great news to the people of the state on the 16th of April. Bhagwant Mann can give a gift of giving 300 units of electricity free to each family every month. He had also met Aam Aadmi Party chief Arvind Kejriwal in Delhi earlier this week to fulfill the promise of making electricity-free.

It is one of the promises made by the Punjab government. The state is already having a debt of Rs 3 lakh crore, additional subsidy is being seen as a worrisome development for the already crippled state finances. After the announcement, the government also faced criticism from the opposition. The state is already providing free electricity to the agricultural sector and 200 units free to all Scheduled Castes, backward castes and below poverty line (BPL) households.

The government also made other promises including a pension of Rs 1000 to women every month, no hike in private school fees, door-step delivery of PDS food grains, etc.
