Zabka compared the release to a film trilogy and said, “The stakes are set at the end of the first five. I think if it was just a movie, it’s a great ending that would beg for a sequel, which fortunately is coming in a few months.”
When it was announced that the series was ending after its sixth season, the creators wrote a letter to their fans. They wrote, “Our Day 1 goal with Cobra Kai has always been to end it on our terms, leaving the Valley in the time and place we’ve always imagined. So, it is with immense pride and thankfulness that we are able to announce that achievement. While this may be a bittersweet day for the fandom, the Miyagiverse has never been stronger.”
