Jalandhar Commissionerate Police led by Commissioner of Police Mr Swapan Sharma has arrested two criminals involved in snatching incidents.
Divulging the details, the Commissioner of Police said that
Dablu s/o Virai resident of village Ghosin Bagya Bakshipura PS Dargah district Bahraich Uttar Pradesh current tenant Gurbachan Singh Sandhu's patio house no. 52 Near Junk Shop Badridas Colony Backside APJ College Jalandhar had lodged a complaint with the Police. He said that in his complaint Dablu had said that on September 9, he was present in his E-Rickshaw No. PB-08-FJ-1985 Color Red at Jyoti Chowk Jalandhar. Mr Swapan Sharma said that complainant had alleged that two unidentified persons boarded his e-rickshaw and stopped him in a street.
The Commissioner of Police said that in the street the two persons assaulted him where one unidentified person put a datar on his neck and another unidentified person forcibly took out Rs 1200 from his pants and shirt pocket. He said that that swinging into action Police had filed Fir No. 95 dated 09.09.2024 u/s 309(3),3(5) BNS Police Station Division No. 3 Jalandhar. Mr Swapan Sharma said that during the investigation the Police identified both the snatchers as Abhi Batra @ Kala s/o Shashi Batra r/o H.No EN-101 Rasta Mohalla Jalandhar and Tarun Sahota @ Mota s/o Prem Lal r/o HNo. EM-229, Baghia Mohalla, Jalandhar.
The Commissioner of Police said that both the accused were arrested by the Police. He said that Police had recovered one Datar iron used in incident. Mr Swapan Sharma said that further investigations into the case is going on and details, if any, will be shared later.
