Jalandhar Police Commissionerate led by Commissioner of Police Mr Swapan Sharma has solved a case of theft in city by arresting two thieves and recovering valuables from them.
Divulging the details, the Commissioner of Police said that on September 12, 2024, Mrs. Kanchan w/o Prem Kumar, resident of house number 226, Mohalla Amrit Vihar, Jalandhar, filed a complaint she had locked her house and went to the RTA office. However, he said that when she returned home in the evening, she found that the door of the lobby of her house was broken, the locks of the cupboards inside the house were damaged and some unknown person had stolen gold and silver ornaments and cash worth about 60 thousand rupees from the house. Mr Swapan Sharma said that based on the complaint the Commissionerate Police lodged FIR No. 132 dated 12.09.2024 under Section 331(2), 305 BNS, Police Station Division No. 1, Jalandhar, was registered.
The Commissioner of Police said that during the investigation the Police identified accused as Surinder Singh @ Suraj s/o Sarvan Singh r/o Village Menva Ps Sadar Kapurthala, and Jagbir Singh @ Jagga s/o Late Santosh Singh r/o HNo. 1922 Captain Piyara Singh Street Karori Chowk Ps Div C Amritsar. He said that swinging into action the Police arrested both the accused and recovered two pairs of gold tops, 10 thousand rupees, and the car XUV No. PB 65 AG 9129 used in the incident. Mr Swapan Sharma said that further investigation into the case is going on and details will be shared later.
