In a major breakthrough, the Jalandhar Commissionerate Police led by Commissioner of Police Mr Swapan Sharma has busted an international drug cartel with arrest of one person along with one kg heroin and Rs 4 lakh drug money.
Divulging more details, the Commissioner of Police said that on a tip off the Police party had laid trap near Green Park Colony, near the bus stand in Jalandhar,. He said that the Police party noticed a guy from side of Cool Road side coming with a bag. Mr. Swapan Sharma said that panicked over the presence of police party the guy hurriedly tried to turn back.
The Commissioner of Police said that sceptical of his activities the Police party stopped him for checking during which one kg heroin and Rs 4 lakh were recovered from him. He said that the Police party immediately arrested the accused identified as Shinda Singh @ Kala s/o Buhar Singh r/o Village Chak Bhangewala Ps Mamdot District Firozpur. Mr Swapan Sharma said that FIR No. 200 dated 09.09.2024 u/s 21C-61-85 NDPS Act was registered at Police Station Division No. 6, Commissionerate Jalandhar.
The Commissioner of Police investigations regarding the accomplices of the accused are being identified, along with the individuals to whom he was supposed to supply such a large consignment of heroin. He said that it is also being investigated that how the accused used to order heroin from Pakistan by drone. Mr Swapan Sharma said that a FIR is already pending against accused in Ferozepur district under the provisions of NDPS Act.
