After Lok Sabha Election result favored Modi government, the huge defeat across the country has left Rahul Gandhi and entire Congress Leadership deadening with shock and doubtfulness on Thursday. Congress Party President Rahul Gandhi lose his seat in Amethi, though voters of Kerala Wayanad rescued him in second seat.
Congress Party trod out with a campaign focusing on jobs and the economy, announced a manifesto full of schemes led by philosophical flagships of “right to minimum income and “loan waiver”.
The foremost old party that ruled independent India for 55 years is now set to serve as opposition for another 5 years.

Modi “desh ka chowkidar” tagline ultimately proved to be more engaging than Congress corruption charges against the government. For all the energy Rahul Gandhi spent on the Rafale issue, some said, it couldn’t dent Modi since “no VP Singh-like Bofors-time rebel” came out of the Modi cabinet.
This failure coincides with origin of the largest-ever “Gandhi family contingent” on Congress leadership — Rahul as party chief, Sonia Gandhi as CPP chief and Priyanka as AICC general secretary.
But then, “if not Rahul Gandhi, then who?” Excluding Captain Amarinder Singh of Punjab and party leaders in Kerala, all other party leaders suffered in this rout. As of now, there are no public expressions of criticism of leadership from top leaders, though veteran Janardhan Dwivedi said — whom Rahul Gandhi had removed from leadership, “I am not at all surprised by what has happened today.”
