Jailed Sikh preacher and Khalistan supporter, Amritpal Singh’s brother, Harpreet Singh, was arrested today along with 2 associates while in possession of drugs. Now, Amritpal's father, Tarsem Singh has given a statement on the arrest of his brother. Singh said that Amritpal's victory is not being tolerated by the anti-Punjab forces and the arrest is just a big conspiracy to defame Amritpal.

On this matter, Amritpal Singh's father Tarsem Singh said that Harpreet had left for Raiya yesterday at around 12 noon. He said that Harpreet had to participate in a protest march for the release of Bandi Singhs in Bagha Purana today, so maybe he went to ask his associates to participate in that march. He said that this is a conspiracy because Amritpal's victory is not being tolerated by the anti-Punjab forces.

He said that conspiracies are being hatched to defame Amritpal and not let him come out. Filing drug cases against those who are trying to help him quit is a disgusting act. Tarsem Singh said that now people have become aware and they all know to what extent the government can stoop to defame someone.

He said that filing a sedition case against Tajinder Singh Timma in Rajasthan is also a conspiracy to defame Sikhs. The Rajasthan Police had booked prominent Sikh leader Tejinder Pal Singh Timma for allegedly uploading a video on social media glorifying Waris Punjab De chief and radical Sikh preacher Amritpal Singh, who took oath as MP on July 5.

Allegations leveled against the police:

Tarsem Singh said that the police never work impartially and can even say that illegal weapons have also been found with Harpreet. Instead of working against the drug mafia, the government is harassing people unnecessarily.

He said that they were told even during the election campaign to stop Harpreet from campaigning or else a case will be filed against him. He further alleged that even today, people who have voted for Amritpal are getting threats that cases will be filed against them.

Amritpal Singh won the Lok Sabha elections 2024 from Khadoor Sahib, beating Congress' Kulbir Singh Zira with a record margin of almost 2 lakh votes. Amritpal is currently detained in the Dibrugarh jail in Assam under the National Security Act (NSA).
