Coronavirus Updates: India records lowest daily cases in four months; 30,548 fresh cases and 435 deaths reported in the last 24 hours

Globally, over 5.43 crore confirmed cases of coronavirus and 13.16 lakh have died so far.

According to the health ministry data, India on Monday reported 30,548 fresh COVID-19 cases pushing the country’s tally to  88,45,127. With 435 deaths, the death toll in the country reached 1,30,070. As many as 82,49,579 people have recovered from the disease so far while the number of active cases in the country is 4,65,478. 

The daily caseload is 25 per cent lower than yesterday's 41,100. The drop in infections comes due to a fall in positivity rate to 3.5 per cent. This sudden decline in daily case count has a result amid a slow but constant surge in northern states, including Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand. 

Globally, over 5.43 crore people have been affected by the coronavirus disease and it killed more than 13 lakh, according to Johns Hopkins University.


COVID-19 latest developments:-

# With 749 new cases, Odisha’s covid-19 tally rose to 3,09,408 today, while 16 fresh fatalities took the death toll to 1,543. The state currently has 9,950 active cases. By far 2,97,862 patients have recovered from the infection and the positivity rate in the state stands at 5.84 per cent. 

# Report says that the Parliament’s Winter Session, scheduled for November, could be joined with the Budget Session in January amid the growing number of coronavirus cases in Delhi.

# The Sabarimala Temple doors are going to be open for devotees from Monday. 

# Religious places in Maharashtra reopened.

 

# The Jharkhand government has issued a notification preventing gathering and religious ceremony on the banks of rivers, ponds and other public water bodies for Chhath puja, given the COVID-19 pandemic. 

# On Sunday Assam reported two deaths and registered 93 new cases, its lowest tally of daily infections since early June. The death toll in the state rosed to 963 and the total number of COVID-19 cases increased to 2,10,268.

# Bihar's COVID-19 tally increased to 2,26,915 after 247 more people tested positive for the infection. The state death toll increased to 1,184 after five fresh fatalities were reported. With 614 people being cured of the disease, the total number of recoveries in the state rose to 2,19,864.  The recovery rate in the state stands at 96.89 per cent.

# Punjab recorded 30 deaths in the last two days, pushing the death toll to 4,458, while 1,054 new cases took the caseload to 1,41,658, on Sunday. The state has 5,769 active COVID-19 cases. As many as 1,025 patients were discharged taking the number of recoveries to 1,31,431.

# At least 26 more people tested positive for COVID-19 in Tripura on Sunday, taking the tally to 31,945 while the death toll remained at 359 as no patient has succumbed to the infection in the last 24 hours. Tripura currently has 1,108 active cases. 

# Telangana recorded 502 fresh covid cases, taking the tally 2.58 lakh while three fatalities pushed the toll to 1,407. 

# According to the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), a total of 12,56,98,525 samples have been tested for COVID-19 up to November 15 with 8,61,706 samples being tested on Sunday.

# With 1,565 fresh COVID-19 cases, Karnataka’s overall tally reached 8,61,647 while 21 deaths took the toll to 1,529. The total number of discharged patients stands at 8,22,953. The number of active cases in the state is 27,146.
