In a shockingly bizarre incident, a youth in Cuttack was dragged on the busy streets after being tied to a scooter by lenders after the former fails to repay the borrowed money.

The incident came to light after the incident’s video went viral. Taking cognizance of the matter the police booked those involved in the incident and detailed media about the same on Monday.

In the video, the youth can be seen running after 2-3 motorbikes right ahead of him while he was tied to one of them. As per the local media reports, the man was dragged from Cuttack’s Shelter Chakk to Mission Road which is nearly 2 KMs apart.

While investigating the matter, police couldn’t inform about the exact timing of the incident, however, they said it took place on Sunday evening.

Cuttack DCP Pinak Mishra said that soon after getting information about the incident we deployed a team to investigate the matter.

“As it is a very sensitive case, immediately I asked all police stations and ACPs to investigate it. Today, we have identified the two accused and the victim. The accused duo has been detained,” Mishra said.

The DCP hasn’t informed the media about the accused’s credentials and is checking whether the latter has any criminal background or not.

It is important here to mention that it is not the first incident reported from Odisha. Earlier a man from Odisha’s coastal town of Jagatsinghpur also made the headlines after a man was made to wear a shoe garland and tied in front of a moving truck as punishment after he stole a mobile phone.
