Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman visits fire mishap site near Aero India show

The Defence Minister was given a briefing about the fire mishap by the officials which has been taken from the account of the first hand witnesses

Minister of Defence Nirmala Sitharaman visited Bangalore on Sunday and took a look at the site where the fire incident took place on Saturday. Nearly 300 vehicles were burnt in the fire incident which was just opposite the Yelahanka Air Force Base where the Aero India 2019 is being organized.

The Defence Minister was given a briefing about the fire mishap by the officials which has been taken from the account of the first hand witnesses. 

The Defence Minister took in consideration the loss borne by the owners of the vehicles burnt in the mishap and ordered the RTO help desk to facilitate the insurance claims by the vehicle owners.

She also met H D Kumaraswamy, Karnataka Chief Minister and the incharge of Fire department of the state.

Though there were no casualties reported in the incident.
