There is more talk of the defeat of Mumbai Indians than the victory of Punjab Kings. The reason is Baby AB i.e. Dewald Brevis.
Brevis was bought by Mumbai in the IPL 2022 auction for Rs 3 crore. Brevis created panic by playing stormy innings against Punjab. He scored 49 runs.
During this inning, he hit 4 consecutive sixes. Brevis made a special record by hitting sixes. He joined the special list related to Chris Gayle.
Brevis has become the third foreign player to hit 4 consecutive sixes in the IPL. Chris Gayle of West Indies has done this feat for him.
Gayle has hit 4 sixes 3 consecutive times. Whereas Jofra Archer has done this feat twice. After Gayle and Archer, Brevis also joined this list. He scored 49 runs off 25 balls in the last match.
Rahul Chahar was doing the 9th over for Punjab Kings. Tilak Verma took a run on the first ball of this over of Chahar. This brought the strike to Brevis.
After this, he hit a four on the second ball. Brevis hit four consecutive sixes in the last four balls. He became the third overseas player to do so in the IPL.
It is worth noting that Dewald Brevis, popularly known as Baby AB, has played 3 matches in the IPL so far.
During this, he scored 89 runs. If we look at the performance of his T20 matches, then he has been good. Brevis has scored 293 runs in 12 matches. During this, he has hit 25 fours and 16 sixes.
