While writing a message of thanks, the kind father became teary-eyed. While one might steal sentiments from movies and music, getting his daughter married was an unparalleled event. Dilip Joshi also greeted the newcomer to the family and called him son.

“You can borrow feelings from songs and films, but when it all happens to you first-hand… that experience is unparalleled. Wishing my little girl, Niyati and the newest entrant to the family, my son, Yashowardhan, the very best and so much more on this amazing journey! Thank you to everyone who shared our happiness by being with us, or by sending their aashirwad and good wishes for the couple. Jay Swaminarayan ,” he wrote.

Co-stars and fans of Dilip Joshi's Sony SAB comedy were quick to send their congratulations to the newlyweds.

While many people expressed sympathy for the father, a few people used the chance to mock his character by pulling his legs. "Jethalali tum itna accha english likhti hamari dil khushi se fulli fulli hoti btw congratulations," one person posted on social media. "Get Popatlal married too, sir," one fan said, referring to Shyam Pathak's character, Popatlal Pandey, who continues to attempt but fails to marry.

Since its premiere in 2008, Dilip has played the lead in Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah. After his role as Jethalal, the actor garnered a large fan base.
