The 2024 Filmfare OTT Awards went underway on Sunday and were attended by a plethora of actors and actresses from the film fraternity including Ananya Pandey, Abhishek Bachchan, etc.

Punjabi singer & actor Diljit Dosanjh on Monday brought another glory to Punjab after he won the Best Actor award at the Filmfare OTT Awards 2024. The 2024 Filmfare OTT Awards went underway on Sunday and were attended by a plethora of actors and actresses from the film fraternity including Ananya Pandey, Abhishek Bachchan, etc. 

Although Diljit Dosanjh was not seen at the Filmfare OTT Awards 2024, he bagged the Best Actor award at the prestigious ceremony. Diljit is currently busy in his Dil-Luminati and this might be the reason why he could not attend the award show. 

Diljit Dosanjh wins best actor at Filmfare OTT Awards 2024

Diljit Dosanjh won the Best Actor award in the Web Original Film (Male) for his outstanding performance in the Netflix movie directed by Imtiaz Ali titled 'Amar Singh Chamkila'. Diljit Dosanjh's movie Amar Singh Chamkila was released on Netflix on April 8, 2024, and it received massive praise from not only fans but also from critics. In fact, Chamkila movie was termed Diljit's best work of his career in terms of movies. Later, Ormax media released a 'Mid Report' and declared Amar Singh Chamkila as the most-watched Hindi movie on OTT.

Amar Singh Chamkila features Diljit Dosanjh, Parineeti Chopra, Apinderdeep Singh, and more in the leading roles. Amar Singh Chamkila is a true story based on the Punjabi folk singer's rise and the events that led to his murder in 1988. On March 8, 1988, Chamkila and Amarjot were shot dead. They were in village Mehsampur in Jalandhar district for a concert along with fellow musicians. Shots were fired at them when they were exiting their vehicle. All of them were rushed to a local hospital where Chamkila and his wife were declared dead.
