Dr. Manmohan Singh won't be contesting Lok Sabha Elections, says Punjab CM Captain Amarinder Singh

Putting a full stop over the speculations of former Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh contesting the Lok Sabha Elections or not, the Punjab CM Captain Amarinder Singh has cleared the air saying that Dr. Manmohan Singh will not contest as he was "never in the reckoning as he had made it clear that he was not interested in contesting elections".

 "We went to enquire about his health. We briefed the former Prime Minister on the Congress plans in Punjab", said the Punjab CM after meeting Dr. Manmohan Singh.

Dr. Manmohan has served as a member of Rajya Sabha since 1991 from Assam and has never won Lok Sabha Elections though he has been offered to contest Lok Sabha elections from the holy city earlier as well.

With Dr. Manmohan Singh having served as the Prime Minister for two consecutive terms, Congress has a big decision to make choosing the face for the position of the Prime Minister with Rahul and Priyanka already in the arena for the same.
