On Monday, Equity markets decreased for the second consecutive session on monday under the pressure of the board. 

The S&P BSE Sensex closed 151 points down at 36,395. The Nifty 50 closed 55 points less at 10,888.

Mahindra & Mahindra Limited posted a decline of more than 5 percent after disappointing results.

Reliance Industries was also a top drag on the National Stock Exchange (NSE) and closed 1.8 percent lower.

The selling pressure was seen across the board, Market experts said.

In the meantime, the Asian stock markets closed in mixed as investors waited the outcome of a fresh round of trade talks between the United States and China in Beijing.

In efforts to reach a deal before March 1, Deputy Trade Representative Jeffrey Gerrish is leading the US delegation for working-level discussions.
