Facebook is testing its new kind video dating app 'Sparked'

The initiative to build a dating application has been tested by the users. The app has been developed by Facebook's in-house team

The application is named 'Sparked' and it is developed by Facebook's in-house team NPE, which is New Product Experimentation. The core concept of the application is "video dating with friendly people".

Some of its features include no public profiles, no swipe left or right, no one can direct message (DM) you without your consent. In this video dating application conversation will possible if individuals from both sides are interested to set up an appointment with each other. 

Sparked in under progress and Facebook is calling it an early experiment. The users will register for the application through their Facebook IDs. The general theme of the dating application is 'Kindness', and during the time of registration the company asks the user to be a 'Kind dater'.

The video dating app was spotted by Verge. The app was live for few minutes on the webpage. This is often termed as a 'speed-dating app' because its video call is said to last for just four minutes and the user will go through a cycle of dates in each event. And if the users will connect on the first date then they will be allowed to go on the second day which will last for ten minutes. After that, the video dating application will advise the users to exchange the contact number and info, stay in touch outside the platform. 

The application will be free for all the users and promises no public profile to be made, no swiping will be required, and no creepy DMs. There will be options to date men, women, or non-binary people, people will be asked if they want to date Trans-people. 

For now, there is no application on Google Play Store, iOS Play Store, and the webpage is not live anymore.
