On July 13, at a Butler election rally, a shooting incident targeted former US President Donald Trump. Following the attack, Trump suffered a facial gunshot wound that resulted in burns. Considering how serious the incident was, Trump kept his fist raised. The 20-year-old attacker, identified as Thomas Methew Crooks, was quickly neutralized by the Secret Service agents manning the security. Sadly, there was also a civilian who perished in the crossfire.

It has been established through a careful investigation that the photo of Trump smiling was Photoshopped. Following a fact-check, the one of the account on 'X' disclosed that the image had been Photoshop-manipulated. Verified images and videos from the event depict Trump in a different state, refuting reports that he smiled after the shooting.
It was established that the altered image, which was first claimed to be a snapshot of Trump's response in real time, was fake. The former president's true state and response to the shooting were distorted by this manipulation.
