A video of a murder in broad daylight is being shared on social media with a communal angle. In this video, the accused can be seen bludgeoning a girl in the middle of the road. After repeatedly hitting the girl on the head with a spanner, the accused talks to her dead body. The crowd of people standing nearby are seen just watching the spectacle after the accused pushes one of the Samaritans off him.

Many verified and non-verified users are sharing this video on X by giving it a communal angle. It is being claimed that the dead girl is a Hindu and the accused belongs to the Muslim community.

A verified user named Vinni wrote- Look at the valor of the Hindu mob. Salim proposed to Aarti, who studied with him, but Aarti refused. After that, Salim openly murdered Aarti on the road and stood comfortably near the dead body. No one had the courage to say anything to him (Translated).

Another verified user also shared the video with the same claim and caption.

 

Is the claim true and false?

This video of June 18 is from Visai in Maharashtra where a 20-year-old girl was killed by her lover who bludgeoned her to death with a spanner. True Scoop News had published the entire news related to this case on its website on June 18.

Rohit Yadav, 28, reportedly followed his ex-girlfriend Aarti with a spanner in his hand in broad daylight after he suspected that she had moved on with another guy. In the viral Vasai murder video, Rohit can be seen attacking Aarti from behind with his spanner.

It is worth noting that the accused has been identified as Rohit Yadav and the name of the deceased is Aarti Yadav. The social media were claiming the accused to be a Muslim named Salim. Therefore, it is clear that the claim being made with the viral video on social media is completely false. Both the accused and the deceased belong to the Hindu community.
