Karan Johar sues film-maker over misuse of his name & violation of privacy rights; Know the case

Famous Bollywood film maker Karan Johar has knocked on the door of Bombay High Court. He has filed a petition against the director of the film Shaadi, Karan and Johar Markers. He has filed a petition against the misuse of his name. Karan Johar's petition will be heard today i.e. on June 13, 2024. The film Shaadi's director Karan and Johar is to be released on 14th June. The petition has been filed demanding a ban. Objection has been raised on the title of the film. As per reports, Karan Johar has objected to the producer of the film.

According to reports, the Dharma Co-Owner has objected to the producer of the film, India Pride Advisory and Sanjay Singh, and the director and writer of the film, Bablu Singh, for using his name in the title of the film and have demanded a ban on this film.

Along with the demand to immediately ban the film, a case has been presented before the bench of Justice R.I. Chagala on Wednesday. The court said that the matter will be heard today i.e. on Thursday. Karan Johar has said that he has no dealings with the film or the filmmakers. He has accused the filmmakers of using his name illegally. He says that his name has been directly referenced in the film, which violates his personality rights, publicity, and privacy rights. 

What did Karan Johar say in the petition?

It has been said in his petition that by misusing his brand name, the producers are taking advantage of his goodwill and reputation without his permission. It has also been said that his reputation is being damaged by the unauthorized use of his name.
