After three years, flights will begin to operate out of Punjab's Jalandhar district's Adampur Airport. The Union Ministry of Civil Aviation has approved resuming flights from the Adampur airport in Jalandhar. Direct flights from the airport will launch to Bangalore, Goa, Kolkata, Nanded, and Hindon. Airlines SpiceJet and Air India have submitted bids to fly out of Adampur.

People frequently travel to and from Punjab through the Doaba region, which is also referred to as the "land of Non-Resident Indians" (NRIs). In addition, Adampur Airport was highly convenient for industrialists traveling to other states from here. However, flights from this airport were halted some time before Corona, which caused a great deal of resentment among the populace. It has been requested for a very long time to be run once more.

CM Bhagwant Mann took a dig at Ex- Finance Minister Manpreet Badal, said" He forgot to fulfill his pledge and joined BJP for the sake of plum postings"

Former Congressman Santokh Chowdhary, who passed away while Rahul Gandhi was in Bharat Jodo, also contributed money from his MP fund to the expansion of Adampur Airport. The airport's expansion is currently in progress.

Sushil Rinku, a recently elected MP from Jalandhar, also visited the airport recently to assess its condition. Additionally, he had stated that he would urge that the federal government do it right away. The new terminal's construction cost is 110 crore rupees. Over the next four months, flights can depart from this location.
