In a surprising move, gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, currently incarcerated and under investigation by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) and multiple state police forces, has been appointed as the national president of the Youth Wing of the All India Jeev Raksha Bishnoi Sabha.
Ramesh Bishnoi, National Vice President of the organization, stated that Lawrence is actively working to keep young people away from drugs and promote wildlife conservation, which holds significant value in Bishnoi society. He added that Lawrence is inspiring others to protect wildlife, aligning with the community’s values.
The official letter from the Bishnoi Sabha confirmed Lawrence Bishnoi, son of Ravindra, a resident of Duteravali village (Abohar, Fazilka district, Punjab), as the National President of its Youth Wing. The letter emphasized Lawrence’s responsibility to advance charitable work in the fields of wildlife and environmental protection, inspired by the legacy of Amrita Devi Bishnoi and 363 other Bishnoi individuals who sacrificed their lives in 1730 to protect the Khejri trees.
The appointment cites the principles of compassion for all life, following the teachings of Guru Jambheshwar Bhagwan. The Sabha expects Lawrence to fulfill his duties with dedication and sincerity.
