For financing two terror cases in Punjab province, Saeed has been sentenced jail confirmed officials.
The anti-terrorism court (ATC) had summoned Saeed and his companions in terror financing case in day-to-day hearing on December 11. However, jail of five and half years and fine of Rs 15,000 in each case has been imposed on Saeed. Also, the sentences of both cases will run simultaneously.
On the application of the Counter Terrorism Department of Punjab Police, the cases against Saeed were registered in Lahore and Gujranwala cities.

Saeed-led JuD is believed to be the front organisation for the LeT which is responsible for carrying out the 2008 Mumbai attack in which 166 people, including six Americans were killed.
The US Department of the Treasury has declared Saeed as a Specially Designated Global Terrorist, and since 2012, the US has offered a USD 10 million reward for information that brings Saeed to justice.
