The appointment of the new DGP Punjab has been denied by the Media Advisor of CM, Punjab stating that the government has not received any panel for the appointment of DGP from UPSC.
"The state government haven't received any panel yet from UPSC. So there is no question of finalization of any name. The state government will consider the panel sent by UPSC on its receipt and then take a call on the appointment of the next DGP as per the directions of the apex court." said Raveen Thukral, Media Advisor of CM, Punjab.
The appointment of the new DGP in Punjab has been in news following the retirement of the current DGP Suresh Arora.
